The classic 1939 short that was nominated for an Academy Award. The story takes place in the future, when all humans have died. This cartoon, from 1941, is almost too cute to bear. When it was released, Tom and Jerry were still in their infancy (having been created only a year earlier). Here, the duo engage in their usual hijinks, only to be overwhelmed by the Christmas spirit at the end. A little sappy, but hey, it's the holidays... :)
This 1951 cartoon contains the usual pratfalls of the hapless Sylvester the Cat, with Tweety Bird displaying his usual smugness. (Does anyone else wish that, just once, Sylvester would win? Or is it just me? :))
